What if I don't feel like I'm that "smart"?

This is one of our most commonly-asked questions. You don't have to be the best student to join! There are over 60 different events in which you can compete. Examples of these include website design, accounting, agribusiness, speaking events, partnership with business, community service events, and many more. There's an event for every kind of person!

If you have any questions about FBLA, hopefully they are answered on this page. If not, feel free to ask Mrs. Story or any of the officers.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

02

I play sports and/or have a job, does FBLA take up a lot of time?

FBLA meetings are only twice a month during lunch. We have a few socials every month or so and our conferences are OLI, Regionals, and State. Those are the only events in which you may miss a day or two of school. Nationals are during the summer. You are not required to go to every event, and FBLA can often work around sports or work days. It is not that time-consuming.

03

I want to join but I'm afraid of failure. Is it hard to get to State?

Some events, such as chapter projects, public speaking, oral presentations, design projects, and some others are State-only events, meaning you're already guaranteed to go to State. That's where most competitions really start. There are plenty of study materials, and State isn't until April so you have time to practice, study and learn how to do your event well!

04

How do I gain money in order to participate in costly activities?

We can almost always help you financially. We do numerous fundaising projects, and sometimes Mrs. Story will offer to help you work off your dues. As well, most of our funding for travel comes from the Klamath County School District.

How do I find out more information about FBLA?

To find out about Mazama chapter's FBLA, ask any of the officer team or the adviser, Mrs. Story.
